1.1.2 Mar 28, 2013. Whats new in v1.1: IMPORTANT - Due to the sheer volume of this update, we recommend that you backup your plans to Dropbox or Email before updating to the new version. We have made many improvements based on what users like yourself requested on our support website. Thank you for making this product the success that it is - ranked #2 in Lifestyle is not an easy feat. This patch is so big, we couldn't include every improvement and bug fixing we've made, but here are the highlights:. Landscaping Content - Added more than 300 landscaping items, such as trees, ponds, pools, playgrounds, BBQ stands, benches and more. European HVAC Units - Coil heaters, towel racks, water heaters and other items that escaped our US brain in v1.0.

Apologies and have fun. Blind Corner Cabinets - Added blind wall, base and full height corner cabinets (90 degrees no-door cabinets). Moldings - improved molding shape and size. Reflection - Render now supports reflection.

Each material has different reflection parameters, based on the material type, like marble, wood, finished wood etc. Added finished wood category to wood material. Finished wood will cause a reflection in your render. Regular wood will not.

Improved dragging and dropping from the shelf to the plan. You should see extreme improvement in how easy it is now to drag items and materials to your plans. Blink - Currently selected model blinks.

Material Blink - When you drag a material, the object under the material will blink. Unselect - Tapping a selected object will unselect it. Layered Selection - Tap repeatedly to select objects in the same location or inside other objects. Added full cabinet version for oven and dishwasher. Reduced Size - We've cut the size of the app by half, without losing quality. Should be easier to download, but we still recommend trying to download the app only on high-speed internet.

Illegal room shape will now blink red in layout screen (such as when you try to crossover two corner points). Improved room labels location in layout screen.

When you drag a window from the shelf to the plan, it will now resize itself to fit smaller walls. Added columns (pillars) and mirrored stairs (reversed left/right). When you add multiple rooms to a new plan, they will be organized in a square, rather than in a line as before. The app also takes into consideration which rooms needs to be located next to which room, like kitchen next to dining room and so on. Bug fixes - Fixed more than 40 bugs.

Thanks again for your help reporting these bugs. Luckily, as many of you have reported on your itunes reviews, the app proved to be very stable already at launch, even when intentionally trying to crash it by overloading it with objects and quickly going between screens hundreds of times repeatedly. The two bugs that did cause the app to crash were found and squashed. A big shout-out to our development team who is working around the clock to ensure your enjoyment is unhindered. As always - something bothers you?

You really want a specific feature to be considered? Maybe we missed an item? Please speak your mind on our helpdesk system at: We answer tickets within the same business day, and everyone gets the attention he or she deserves. The app may cost less than 10 USD, but our support agents will grant you a million dollar treatment, guaranteed!

Whats new in v1.1.1 and 1.1.2: Fixed some typos, fixed bug relating to showing new models in the shelf, fixed development tab. Fixed bug with disappearing doors and windows.

✪ Reduced Size - We've cut the size of the app by half, without losing quality. Should be easier to download, but we still recommend trying to download the app only on high-speed internet. ✪ Illegal room shape will now blink red in layout screen (such as when you try to crossover two corner points). ✪ Improved room labels location in layout screen ✪ When you drag a window from the shelf to the plan, it will now resize itself to fit smaller walls ✪ Added columns (pillars) and mirrored stairs (reversed left/right) ✪ When you add multiple rooms to a new plan, they will be organized in a square, rather than in a line as before. The app also takes into consideration which rooms needs to be located next to which room, like kitchen next to dining room and so on.

✪ Bug fixes - Fixed more than 40 bugs. ✪ As always - something bothers you?

Cloud Render (3D) Combining cutting edge technology with hundreds of dedicated servers, Interior Design for iPad can transform your 3D scene into a photorealistic image. Drag and drop furniture, appliances and fixtures into your scenes, apply materials from our huge materials library, and hit a button – the cloud render service will kick into action and transform your 3D scene into a lifelike photorealistic image. The cloud render is performed on a dedicated, high-end server farm and requires an active subscription.

User Groups (2D, 3D) You can group objects together and save the entire group in a special category on the shelf called “User Groups”. Once a user group is created, you can drop it into any of your plans just as you would a normal object. Material Picker (3D) Tap and hold any object to show the currently applied materials to that object.

Tap any of these materials to see it on the materials shelf, enabling you to apply it to other objects in your scene. Direct Object Manipulation (2D, 3D) Quickly move, rotate and scale any object in the scene using real-time transform handles. Easily change doors and windows location by dragging them around, in 2D or 3D mode (we are working on manipulation handles for doors and windows as well). Sticky Manipulation Mode (3D) Enable this option in the settings screen, and selected objects will retain the last modification mode you used (move, scale or rotate). Floor height (Layout) Each floor can be assigned a different height.

Blueprint View (2D) See a printer-friendly, black and white representation of your plan with a tap of a single button. Blueprint mode temporarily hides all furniture and colors so you can see your layout clearly. Materials Application Handles (3D) Easily and quickly see the currently assigned materials and their locations on an object. Tap any material to replace it. Measurement Tape (Layout, 2D) Tap and hold on an empty space then drag to measure a distance. Adjust tape handles – they will snap to walls, objects and 45 degree angle. You can move the measurement tape around and make adjustments to it.

Dynamic Labels (Layout, 2D) Tap any dimension label and a dimension calculator will pop-up. This is an easy way to input accurate dimensions. Notes (Layout, 2D) Drag and drop notes to any area of the plan.

Notes can contain text and images. Improved Export Export works not only on a single plan but also on entire folders.

This makes it very easy to share multiple plans across devices. Subscription Interior Design for iPad now offers auto-renewal subscription. The app itself and its content is completely free, while renders and a few professional features like 4K renders and custom logo require a subscription. Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription to that publication, where applicable. Design6000, Love this app, just have few suggestions I love this app because all of the furniture is unlocked and it does not make you pay for anything at all.

And it does not have any sound so I can listen to music while I am playing the game. You can also modify the color and the size of any object.

When you leave the game you don't have to press a save button or anything, so when you get back to the game it resumes right where you left off. But when I am playing the game I wish that the app had a blankets to put on a couch or a bed.

And that the app had barn doors for bathrooms or dinning rooms. I also think that there should be pet items, like beds and crates or dog bowls.

There should also be more kid toys to decorate a bedroom or playroom. Overall interior design is a great app to play if you are anything like me, and like to create and design houses and bedrooms.😊👍. XHICHELE, THANK YOU❣️ After our house burned in a fire, we had to rebuild quickly. I can't imagine trying to make the plans without this app helping to visualize it. Of course it would be better with even more objects. But it's great that you can adjust every dimension for every object.

If you're imaginative you can modify a basic kitchen counter piece into a half wall; put 2 pieces of furniture together to form one piece; or make a picture frame into an aquarium using an imported photo as material. But the additions I would like to see is roofing, ability to color trim in the rooms & a walk-through locking option so that objects can't be highlighted. This would make it easier to let other people look at your plans. All in all- this is the best planning app I found.

And for FREE! Developer Response, Thank you for your kind words and we're very glad you're using the app to rebuild your home. We've put your suggestions on our to-do list. I use the free version to give clients a better visual of their space and how it can be changed. Positives It is completely free, and I can send layouts to clients by email, so that is a wonderful plus. I can add my own pictures and make my own wall colors.

Negatives You can't get accurate sizing on walls and items. The items are very limited. I would pay for an app that offered considerable more options in all categories. The version you can pay for currently does not offer nearly enough for me to buy it. Materials are very limited and unrealistic looking. I have better luck finding an item online, taking a snapshot of it, then uploading that and using it as a material.

If I duplicate an item, then delete one, it will want to delete all items. I can't move too many items too close to each other. The items just won't line up properly. It might be a fraction off, but it's enough to make a difference.

Overall, it's free and I can find nothing that compares. I hope they make a paid for version with a much more extensive library and fixes the little glitches.

What a time to be planning room layouts! Lucky for us, we now have access to a treasure trove of user-friendly apps to help us create floor plans and virtually design our rooms—taking a lot of the guesswork out of everything from gauging the right-sized furniture for our space, to assessing how a paint color will look, to putting entire rooms together in virtual reality before we take the plunge IRL. The following are some of the highest-rated apps on the market right now for drawing floor plans and room layouts.

These apps can prove incredibly helpful when moving to a new home or embarking on a remodel, redesign, or even when purchasing new furniture (I'm looking at you, sofas). Please share any experiences you've had with room layout apps in the comments! FOR CREATING A FLOOR PLAN MagicPlan.

(Image credit: ) is the Webby Award-winning app for iOS and Android that is receiving rave reviews for it's aesthetically pleasing interface and because it allows users to create room layouts using furniture and home decor from real brands—about as mistake-proof as you can get in room planning. The app also has cool features like a walk-through mode that allows users to take a virtual tour of their newly created rooms to get a feel for the room design and layout, and the option to share the room via social media for input and advice. Home Design 3D. (Image credit: ) for iOS (free but users need to upgrade to the $3 version to save room designs) offers a fun and easy way to play with virtual room layout ideas. Users enter the dimensions of their room and then can try out different room planning ideas by flipping furniture, changing wall colors and flooring, and altering the scale of items to see how everything will look together. Reviews praise the app's ease of use but note issues with crashing (though the newest version addresses the bug in the app and states the issue has been fixed).
